Robert Henry

After graduating from UCF with a BA in English Lit I started working in a local gym pursuing my passion in strength & conditioning.  As a NASM CPT i was the highest grossing trainer during my tenure in the Big Box scene.  Through a series of events, the movie “300″ being one, of course, i found CrossFit and started training in the Crossfit Methodologies.  This of course was unsettling in the Big Box scene, and eventually, inevitably, led to my dismissal.  Immediately, and with the support of an amazing community,  I founded Heavy Mettle Fitness and opened CrossFit Daytona.  I spent three long, fun years building and learning from CFD.
In the summer of ’11, taking what i learned and honed at CFD, and with my beautiful wife and partner, we opened Jax S & C.  I feel my job is to constantly learn, seek information, and apply it in the

most intelligent and beneficial way to our clients and athletes.
My athletic background, in my youth i dabbled in triathlons and swam my senior year in high school.  in my late teens and early twenties i was an amateur body border (yes, border, not builder).  and competed in the ESA.
For the majority of my twenties i was a sedentary student, in and out of the gym.  you know, that story.  at one point i hit the unflattering weight of 250#.  From that time forward i was motivated and determined to not be complacent, to be proactive, and seek change.  that was the catalyst to where i am now, who i am now, and everything in between.
As a coach i have placed 4 athletes in the top 10 at the ’10 Fl Crossfit Sectionals, including the #1 female.  2 top 15 males in the ’11 regionals, as well as CFD regional team.

Coach Henry is awsome. CFD is a great place to workout, more like family than gym buddies. Helped me immensely with my weight, strength and endurance. Got back into “Tier One” shape. I’m 43 and I have a starting position with the local D2 rugby club. Thanks Coach.
