I had always considered myself to be in pretty good shape and over the years I was able to motivate myself to go to the gym or do some kind of exercise to try and maintain where I was at but never saw myself changing my body or my overall feeling of well being very much. Towards the end of 2010 the motivation to workout took a real down turn.
A friend came to visit and she told me about crossfit and after I started to look at it I wanted to find a gym to give it a try. I began at Crossfit Daytona in April 2011 and I am now addicted. The exercise as well as the feeling of community make it a great way to start each day. When I first started I watched many of the athletes prfom movements and lifts that I thought were impossible for me, but over the months I have amazed myself at what I have been able to accomplish. Rob and Boz have scaled workouts and encouraged me until I have been able to do many at Rx.
All of the trainers at Crossfit Daytona stress the importance of proper form and and technique. They made sure that I had that down before allowing myself or any other athlete to continue in a workout. In the months that I have been coming to Crossfit Daytona I have seen a definite change in my body shape (unfortunately requiring a new wardrobe).
Of more importance though is the way I feel. I just had my 39th birthday and I know I feel better and can do things that I couldn’t do 10 or even 15 years ago. To go along with this is the confidence and energy that I have now are like when I was in my 20′s.
Rob and Boz mak crossfit much more than just exercising. They also provide nutritional insight to make their program important for the whole body and mind.
Thank you Crossfit Daytona for the encouragement, knowledge, frienships and well being you have provided. I look forward to seeing what I can do at 40.
Regards,
